Opening loss doesn't hurt optimism for Mac football '09
Macalester has been called many things: internationally renowned liberal arts institution, purveyor of acceptance, home to diverse students and so on and so forth. Academics may be Macalester's claim to fame, but don't be surprised if "home to an emerging football program" becomes associated with Macalester in the near future.

Mac cricket crushes Carleton

Macalester and Carleton may already have enough reasons to legitimately be called rivals, but on Saturday another huge factor was added with the first ever playing of the Macalester Carleton Cricket Tournament. Although Macalester has a group of enthusiastic cricketers on campus, there hasn't been much of an opportunity for a team from Macalester to play an intercollegiate match.

Waterpolo nationals preview

Coming off a consistently successful regular season, the women's water polo team is headed to the Collegiate Division III national championships this weekend. The championships are in Thousand Oaks, California, and are hosted by California Lutheran University.
