Even with the disappointment of Spencer Edelman â?TM06 winning the tanning competition for the second straight year, the menâ?TMs tennis team had a successful spring break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. The men ended the week with a 5-1 record with only a 5-4 defeat against Farleigh Dickinson (N.J) spoiling their bid for a perfect trip.
The teamâ?TMs wins came against Westminster (Pa.) (7-2), Defiance (Ohio) (6-3), Nazareth (N.Y.) (4-3), Greenville (Ill.) (8-2) and Concordia (Wis.) (6-1). Charlie Edelman â?TM09 and Andy Kessel â?TM07 (No. 6) each had perfect 6-0 records for the week in the singles competition. Spencer Edelman and Aaron Heerboth â?TM08 each went 5-1 for the week. The pair also had a successful doubles record, winning four out of five matches.
The week brought inspiration for the team whose record prior to spring break was 1-3.
â?oeThis may be Mac tennis, but that doesnâ?TMt mean we canâ?TMt start getting some good wins,â?? Heerboth said. â?oeThe team has a lot of confidence right now, and I think this attitude will carry over into our MIAC mat
