Flintoff to Speak about Reporting in Iraq

National Public Radio’s (NPR) Corey Flintoff will speak on his recent reporting trip to Iraq at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in Weyerhaeuser Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required and are available at the information desk at the Ruth Stricker Dayton Campus Center. Tickets are also available at Whole Foods. The talk is entitled “Reporting the War: Corey Flintoff’s Experience in Baghdad.” It is part of the Broadcast Journalist Series, co-sponsored by Macalester, Minnesota Public Radio and by the law firm of Dorsey & Whitney LLP.Flintoff has been the newscaster on NPR’s “All Things Considered” for nearly 15 years. He is also a reporter for NPR’s news magazines and a fill-in host on “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me.” He formerly worked at Alaska Public Radio and won the 1989 Corporation for Public Broadcasting Award for coverage of the Exxon Valdez oil spill. COLLEGE RELATIONS
