Football Coach Caruso quits Mac for neighborhood rival St. Thomas
After only two seasons at Macalester, former head football coach Glenn Caruso has moved on down the road. Literally. Caruso officially accepted a job offer from St. Thomas on Jan. 24, in the wake of former St. Thomas football coach Don Roney's resignation.

Most Macalester athletes have the option of deciding which semester they would like to study abroad, in order to avoid conflict with their sport's schedule. This, however, is not the case for the Swimming and Diving teams. With a competitive season that begins in late October and extends through February, a number of athletes were obligated to forfeit part of the season to study overseas.

Tom Conboy '08 overtook Ben Van Thorre '04 to become Macalester's all-time scoring leader on Wednesday in a 68-65 victory over St. Mary's, the win snapping an 8-game losing streak that had lasted throughout January. Conboy passed Van Thorre's 1707 career points when he drained a 3-pointer midway through the first half.
