First, a well-orchestrated life-plan. This is a sign of incipient adulthood. It's usually delivered in a voice that sounds unusually self-confident, and may be followed by a grin of self-satisfaction.

For the average transfer student, Macalester represents a new college existence with a redefined purpose.
