Macalester's Leonard Center was rocked Saturday by an alleged display of racist and homophobic conduct by Monmouth College players during the Men's water polo tournament that Macalester's coach deemed "disgusting."
The conduct was allegedly directed at Macalester's Jeff Yamashita '11 and Bobbi Gass '10.

Last weekend both men's and women's golf wrapped up memorable seasons at the MIAC tournament held at Bunker Hills Golf Course in Coon Rapids, Minn.
The women finished an impressive fourth out of ten teams with 1,038 strokes, three slots above last year's finish and just ten strokes behind third place Carleton.

I know I do. The men's cross country team, with some runners racking up 90 to 100 miles per week, would beg to differ.

The women's cross country team has had a rough time this season. With injuries and a relatively young team, their record is not as strong as it could be. However, the women are determined to continue running with confidence.
"Being a senior captain, this is the first season where there's a lot of potential," captain Emily Dunn '09 said.

Last Friday, students at Macalester piled into bleachers both in the stadium and in the new gymnasium to watch the women's soccer team beat St. Benedict 1-0, and the volleyball team take two out of three games against Bethel. But these were not ordinary games; in association with the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, the teams were participating in Breast Cancer Awareness Month, raising money for the Kick Cancer and Dig Pink foundations, (soccer and volleyball respectively).

On Saturday, October 4th, Kimbo Slice was scheduled to faceoff against Ken Shamrock live on CBS' "Saturday Night Fights." However, just hours before the fight was scheduled to take place, Shamrock was declared unfit to fight due to a cut that he had suffered over his left eye in training.
